Abstract

This article explores the comprehensive impact of digital transformation on the efficiency of entrepreneurial activities within the road construction sector. The relevance of the study is driven by the urgent need to optimize operational costs and enhance business process transparency amidst limited financial resources and escalating quality standards for infrastructure projects. The study examines a systemic transition from traditional, paper-based management methods to the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies throughout all stages of a road’s lifecycle—from preliminary surveys and design to maintenance and operation. A significant focus is placed on the integration of automated monitoring and control systems for road construction machinery fleets. The author provides a detailed analysis of the implementation of telematics platforms and 3D automated grade control systems as pivotal instruments for reducing production costs and strengthening an enterprise's competitive position. The research demonstrates that utilizing satellite navigation (GNSS) and real-time sensor data minimizes the overconsumption of expensive materials, such as asphalt mixtures and crushed stone, while optimizing the logistics of fuel and lubricant resources. As a result of the study, the economic advantages of a digital management model are identified, directly influencing the competitiveness of enterprises in the public procurement market. It is substantiated that the creation of "digital twins" and the automation of operational processes not only improve technological precision but also form a new strategy for the sustainable development of the road construction business. The practical significance of the findings lies in their potential application by corporate management to develop strategic roadmaps for the digital adaptation of construction enterprises. The integration of BIM and automated fleet management is proven to be a decisive factor in achieving long-term financial stability and technical excellence in modern infrastructure development.
