CONCEPTUAL APPROACHES TO INTERPRETING THE CONCEPT OF EFFICIENCY OF HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Abstract
The relevance of the separation of the direction of the above research is largely due to the role and place of higher education institutions in the system of building society and educating the future generation. The purpose of the above research is to clarify, systematize and substantiate conceptual approaches to interpreting the concept of the effectiveness of higher education institutions. The presented study uses methods of a partial descriptive analytical approach using an instrument that differs in terms of the dimensions covered by the study and the time period. Thus, today higher education institutions occupy a system-forming place in the formation and development of each country. It is important to understand that this applies to both developed and developing countries. The article considers conceptual approaches to interpreting the concept of the effectiveness of higher education institutions. The vision of many leading scientists of our time is presented, the concept is defined, the peculiarities of understanding this term in relation to higher education institutions are identified and systematized. The key components of the concept of effectiveness for higher education institutions are clarified and it is proven what exactly should be evaluated in this concept. The argumentation is provided regarding the need to determine the level of effectiveness and build a policy of a favorable educational and scientific environment in higher education institutions in the future. The analysis of the results of the survey among higher education applicants is presented and the level of their assessment in the current educational environment is shown. Recommendations are given on the areas of improving the educational environment regarding the functioning of HEIs in the area of using the appropriate technological factor and content of distance learning together with the development of digital technologies. It is proven that the use of the appropriate technological factor and content of distance learning together with the development of digital technologies and linking it to the website of international universities, where it works to support Ukrainian universities, will help higher education institutions function more effectively in the modern educational environment.
