THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES OF INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC STATISTICS IN THE CONDITIONS OF GLOBAL TRANSFORMATIONS AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
The purpose of the article is to reveal and improve the theoretical and methodological aspects of international economic statistics in the era of global transformations, sustainable development and challenges for the national economy. The objective prerequisites for the emergence of international economic statistics, strengthening its role and relevance are indicated. The research methodology is based on the conceptual principles of statistical science, the use of the dialectical method and the systemic approach (for understanding economic processes and phenomena in development and interconnection); the abstract-logical method (for revealing the essence of the term "statistics"); the monographic method (when processing the scientific achievements of national and foreign scientists); tabular and graphical methods (for visual display of statistical information on international trade); techniques: analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, detailing and logical generalization, as well as retrospective and comparative analysis. The results of the research confirm the features of international economic statistics subject, its functions, tasks and organization of statistical research. It is substantiated that the methodology of international economic statistics is based on the principles of scientific understanding of the quantitative properties of phenomena and processes of the international environment in combination with their qualitative characteristics. It is established that the methodology of international economic statistics is determined taking into account the purpose and features of the studied statistical population. The practical significance of the research is justified promising directions for the development of international economic statistics in the conditions of Ukraine's European integration and ways of adapting to international standards and requirements. The results of the research can be useful for specialists in scientific and educational environments, in professional statistical activities, in the field of public administration and the international business environment.
